Happy??? Most will be (frank)ing outright elated if we are in the hunt for the 8th seed... (frank) I think most will be happy with 10th seed- as I doubt they realistically achieve that (10th)...

Indeed, what stands out to me is your line about "excuses already built in".
This must shift. I do think Eakins can help in this respect and hopefully it's coming at just the right time as some of the players begin to feel the same way.

We've heard Eakins and a few other players already balk at the "young team" statement. I hope it shows on the ice.

And quite literally, Eakins is plastering the dressing room walls---as team identity progresses---with some potent phrases.

Gonna be another tough year for the Oilers in the new division I believe....and if anyone is due for a big wake up call it's the Canucks. They've had it easier for the past 10 years!!!

I think Perron and Ferrence will be the game changers for us this year... Both will lead on and off the ice... Like many fans- I truly dont know how this team will come together... the preseason games are never an indicator... so many new faces, new division... a fair bit of change I would say... I guess we will see tonight...
